On March 16, 2002, the One-Armed Bandit's car, possessions, and one-of-a-kind golf
prosthesis were stolen. Several months later, the offender was caught and thrown in prison.
Larry's car was recovered and was in bad shape. All of his possessions were gone including
the specially-developed prosthetic arm which, according to the thief, was thrown into a
dumpster. Unfortunately, neither the car insurance nor the health insurance covered
the loss of the prosthetic arm.
Larry's unique golf prosthesis has played an important and integral part in his livelihood,
helping him share his story with hundreds of charities throughout the country. Over the last
ten years, Larry has shared his testimony with thousands of people of overcoming adversity.
The golf prosthetic has been the key element for Larry while working to achieve his
ultimate goal of competing professionally one day on the PGA Tour.
This "One-Armed Bandit" Celebrity Shootout is dedicated to helping Larry get a
new prosthetic arm as well as helping local children receive prosthetic arms so
they can enjoy their daily routine and activities with friends.
